This afternoon, Space shuttle Endeavour landed at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth. This is where Rick works. Actually, I was about heading to bace for shopping at this time. but Matthew was out in his car seat on the way to base. so I returned to home and put him to sleep in his crib. I should go there!!!! I hope to have a chance to see it will take off to Florida tomorrow or on Friday.
ちょっと前に宇宙から帰還したスペースシャトル・エンデバー。本当はフロリダに降り立つ予定だったんだけど、天候の都合で急遽カリフォルニア州のエドワード空軍基地に降り立ちました。で、それをフロリダに輸送することになったんだけど、実はシャトル自身はエンジンを持たないので、飛行機みたいに飛べないんですよ！なので映像の通り、ジェット機におんぶ（Piggybackと呼びます）で飛ぶのです。とりあえず中間点でお泊りするのにリックが働いている基地に降り立ったのでした！しかも、今日丁度着陸した時間にベースに買い物に行こうと出かけたんだけど、マシューが途中で寝ちゃったから引き返してきたのでありました(T.T)行けばよかったなぁ…

Happy Halloween
Last year, Matthew and I went to Trick-or Treat to Negishi base with friends. He was peas :) It was my first experience too. It was sooooooo much fun. and I enjoyed candy and chocolate he got.
This year, it was 2nd Halloween for Matthew and Myself. Matthew and Rick made Jack-O-Lantern. It was really fun. Matthew tried to help Daddy. We got this pumpkin last week at Pumpkin Patch. Pumpkin Patch was about 35 minutes away from house by drive. It was really good Pumpkin village but terrible weather. It was 15 F however windy and heavy rain. feeling temperature was like under 10F. We were looking forward to Hay ride and bounce house, Matthew and I stayed in a car, Rick went out to get one big good shape pumpkin. While he was selecting big pumpking, They started to close their farm due to weather.
I put him to sleep soon but he woke up with screaming. I was wondering why he was so cranky. I touched his forhead, It was too hot. He had a fever.............. I gave him tylenol then he fell a sleep just as usual. Dont't worry!! He is just fine today :)

so we went to farmars market near our house and stopped by small pumpkin patch for Matthew. He was so excited! He tried pick them up and touched.
The place we live now, it's new residential area. Right across the street of our house, New houses are under construction. so we don't think not much kids come to our house. Rick bought lots of candies just in case though. then my friend called me and come to join Trick-or-Treat at their neighborhood. Matthew was cranky all day yesterday. We didn't know why. We guessed maybe he didn't take a nap. when we got to our friend house, he was cring. then we walked at the street and do trick-or-treat, he was sitting on the stroller without smile. we stopped by church at their house and looked around and took Matthew home soon.

socialize
When we lived in Japan, Matthew and I have lots of friends and I tried to attend many classes. Baby Yoga, Baby massage, Baby sign etc. I enjoyed these class and I beleave Matthew did as well.Since we moved in TX, we lived at Extended Hotel about 2 months. He spent most of the time with me and Rick . and his family in ND when we visited them in July. It was not that bad but he is getting shy of people and strangers sometimes. so we took Matthew to Gymboree Play and Music.
Matthew joined trial class for the first time. He was affraid of other babies and their moms. He just stood up and did nothing with no smile. However, as time advances, he got used to it and enjoyed himself. so we diceded to attned this class once in a week. Now, He really enjoy this class and play with other kids.
日本に居た頃は、私もマー坊を連れて友達と遊んだり、新しく出来たママ友＆マー坊の友達と遊んだり
ベビーマッサージ、ヨガ、ベビーサインなどなど 色んなイベントに参加したりしてい たので、
マー坊も月齢もあったのかもしれないけど あまり人見知り、場所見知りすることなく
どちらかというと誰に抱っこされても大丈夫なほど 人懐っこい感じがしていました。
が、こっちに来てからホテルに缶詰だったりして
家族以外に触れることがめっきり減ってしまい段々と人見知りというか
外に出るとちょっと大人しいというか 慣れるのに時間がかかるようになってきてました
これはいかん！！というわけではないのだけれど やっぱり社交性はつけておかないとなぁ～ということで、
お友達に色々話しを聞いて ＧＹＭＢＯＲＥＥに入れることにしました
様子をみてたら まぁ～うって変わってのびのびと
その後続々と同じクラスの人も来たのだけれど 流れで上手くクラスに参加できました
クラスは１０ヶ月から１６ヶ月の子のクラスなので 周りはまだハイハイだとか、お座りの子が多い
マー坊は一番年上かな？という感じなので あちこち行っちゃうけど、それもＯＫ
自由にやらせてくれます
逆に座ってばっかりだった回りの子も 後に続いて動き出したり！
やっぱり人を見て真似したりって大事なのかな
まだまだこの月齢では同じ位の子と一緒に遊ぶってことは無理だけど
色んな大人や子供に触れるいい機会だなぁと思いました

でもやっぱり予想通りカチーンと固まって何をやらせようとしても断固拒否
この日はダディーも一緒に参加したけどそれでもＮＯ！
後日、今度はＭＵＳＩＣのクラスを体験 歌を歌ったり、太鼓を叩いたり、
鳴り物を鳴らしたり みんなドンドンと太鼓を叩く中、完全拒否！！
この日は私一人で、人数も少なかったし お部屋も小さい個室だったのに駄目…
あれま、ここまできたかと思ってたんだけど 残り５分くらいでようやくなじんできた
とりあえず音楽は家でも出来るかな？という感じだったので
体を動かせるＰＬＡＹ＆ＬＥＡＲＮのクラスに参加することにした
週１回、４５分のクラス どちらの体験クラスでも、最後の方になると慣れてくるので
今日はちょっと早めに行って状況を把握させてみた
様子をみてたら まぁ～うって変わってのびのびと

I just turned 1!!
MAY 18, we celebrated Matthew's 1 year birthday at a hotel. Unfortunately, we couldn't do much special for his first ( or second? ) birthday but we had a great time together. We bought some presents for Matthew this time. couse he is struggling for adjust new life and circumstance right now. We bought him Cheetah (stuffed animal) at BUILD-A BEAR, 3 way hawl and ride, Texas Renger's clothes, Mega Bloks and Sesami street DVD. and this walker helps him to walk by himself little bit. Do you think that we spoiled him too much? ha ha ha. but look at him!! He looks sooooo happy.
5月１８日、マシューの１歳の誕生日のお祝いをしました。残念ながら初めての誕生日なのに、あまり特別なことはしてあげられなかったんだけど、家族３人で楽しい時間を過ごしました。今回は色んな状況の変化に頑張ってついていってるマシューの為に特別にオモチャを沢山買いました。チーターのぬいぐるみ（こちらで有名な自分だけのぬいぐるみを作れるお店で）、３通りに使えるおもちゃ、ここテキサスレンジャーズ（アメフトのチーム）の洋服、ブロック、それからＤＶＤ。ちょっと甘やかしすぎちゃったかな？でも今回は特別です！
I cooked his birthday cake with pancake mix, banana and yogurt myself. so he can eat all his cake!!! That was all what I wanted to do for him. He really enjoyed it and ate it by his hands. He made a big mess but he was so cute!
誕生日のケーキだけは自分でなんとかこちらで材料をそろえて作りました。だって、こっちのケーキって色は凄いし、甘いし、なによりまずい…とてもそんな事言えないですが^^; マシューは楽しそうに食べてました。後で片付けが大変だったけど

Hello from TX
Hi everyone!! Sorry for not update for a long time. We are doing fine. I had realy bad jet-lag for a couple of weeks and couldn't sleep until 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning. I finaly adjust TX time.
When we got here, It was like over 90F. I thought I couldn't live here!! Here is not that big Naval Air Station. But All Armed Forces in here. When I went to Commissary, I found Sushi!! I thought it was not good. but it was really good!!! I heard there are lots of asian market around fort worth and Dallas area. I can't wait to tour to everywhere :)
Since I got here, We stayed at Hotel for two days and moved in Transfer Family Quaters on base for a week. It was okay to stay but there is no stove to cook. just fridge and microwave. It is not good to eat fast food all the time and not good for instant baby food for Matthew. Last week, Rick got a week off for looking for the place to live. We saw realtor introduced from USAA, then checked some pre-owned house we have been checked since we were in Japan. Some were really nice and seems comfy place but some were awful. At the same time, we were looking for a new house. Once you saw the new house, you can't go back to pre-owned house cuz almost same price or cheaper. and house is bigger here! Finally we found the house we will live!! It is new house and is being build. good neighborhood and school district. Ofcause I checked Sex Offender. It is clear. not 0 actually, but not around our area much. It is scheduled for completion in mid July. We have to be patient for a while. We are living at extended hotel now.
Can't wait to move in our house!!!

こっちに着いたときには、なんと気温が３０度を超していて、こんなところでは絶対住めない！！と思いました。こちらは海軍のエアーステーションなんだけれどそれほど大きい基地ではないようです。基地内の食料品売り場に行ったところ、外には「寿司」の看板が！！それほど美味しくないと思って期待してなかったんだけど意外とこれがイケてました♪ 私たちが住むフォートワースや隣のダラスにはアジアンマーケットや日本の食料品店なども多いようなので、これから時間をみつけて回ってみようと思います。
こちらに来てから、最初の２日間はホテルに滞在し、その後の１週間は基地内の家族用の寮に泊まっていました。住むところが決まるまでそこでもいいかと思っていたんだけど、キッチンがないのが難点。ずっとファーストフードばっかりでも良くないし、マシューにもちゃんとしたご飯を食べさせたかったのでキッチン付きのウィークリーホテルに移りました。それと同時に１週間の休みがもらえたので、蒸すところを探すことに。中古の物件から新築、アパートと銀行が紹介してくれた不動産業者の方と一緒にかなりの物件を廻った。で、最終的に新築物件に決定！！実は、日本と違って中古でも新築でもそれほど値段が変わらないんです。ただ完成は７月半ばなので、今しばらくホテル暮らし。もうちょっとの辛抱です。早くお家に移りたい！！

spring has come!!
Sring is the best season in Japan I believe. It is getting warm day by day and everything feels more alive in the spring. There are bunch of flowers we enjoy viewing.
Last weekend, My friend Aime asked us to tour to Shomyoji Temple near our house. Rick, Matthew and I had a chance to meet up with her on Saturday. There are many food venders. We can get some food and drink. People enjoyed having some lunch under the tree.
A couple days ago, Matthew and I went on a cherry viewing picnic with momsy friends and babies. We met each other through infant massage class. I found that class near our house online. I joined infant massage class when Matthew was 6 weeks. I am so lucky to meet them. I was working until 6 months pregnant. I didn't have much friends around my house. Especially friends who mother-to-be. They made my stay-at-home-mom life happy!!! I hope we will keep in touch while we are in the states, and also we will find new good friends in the states for Matthew and myself.

grow swiftly
Matthew will be 11 months at 18th this month. Time flys. Now he can stand up by himself for about 10 to 15 seconds without our help. Especially when he watchs his favorite Sesami street DVD. He claps his hands and moves his body as he dance while he is standing up. But he doesn't realize that he can do that!!! That is funny. He might walk before his 1st birthday.
マシューは18日で丸11ヶ月になります。本当に時間が経つのはあっという間。今彼は10秒ちょっとなら自分で立っちが出来るようになりました。特に大好きなセサミストリートのＤＶＤに夢中になっているときなんかに！立ちながら手をパチパチしたり、ダンスをしているように体を動かしたり。でも当の本人は自分が一人で立っていることに気づいてないようす。１歳の誕生日前には歩くかもしれないなぁ。

at last
Rick got an order to move to Fortworth Air Base in TX. We will move out from our house the end of April. I have mixed feelings about it. I am so exited to go to the states. but also I am going to miss my families, friends and my country. Since we got an order, I have been stressed out for everything. We don't have much time to ready to move out and my visa paperwork doesn't finished yet. We have about 1 month left. I don't think I could make it until May 8th..... Wish me luck!!!
Anyway, PCS to TX is kind of adventure for me with Matthew. We both will have lots of experience in TX. We will have new friends, new house, new life style. I know it is going to be tough for me sometimes. However I will try to enjoy new life with Rick and Matthew. Until we will PCS back to JAPAN!!!
Matthew is 10 months old now. He is very healthy. He doesn't catch cold since he was born. Sometimes, Brestfeeding makes me tired however it works for develop immunity to sickness. He is so getting active day by day. He crawls faster and faster and can pull himself up since in January ( He was 8 months ). He loves to walk around the house holding on to furniture and watch Sesami Street DVD!! Especially he loves Big Bird. When I turn on DVD when he is getting fussy, He shows me big smile. That helps me a lot!!
とうとう移動日が決定！！5月8日にアメリカはテキサスのフォートワースへ。とても複雑な心境。アメリカの生活はとても楽しみでもあるけれど、やっぱり不安はあるし、家族とも友達とも離れることはやっぱり寂しい。オーダーが出てからというもの、ストレスが溜まって仕方がない。やることは沢山あるのに遅々として進まず…ビザの最終面接もまだだし本当に大丈夫なのか？！？！？！
フォートワースでの生活はある意味私にとってもマシューにとってもちょっとした冒険。テキサスで沢山のいい経験が出来るとは思う。新しい生活、家、友達。やっぱり大変な事もあると思うけど、また日本に帰ってくるまで新しい生活を楽しみたいと思います！
さて、マシューは10ヶ月になりました。とっても元気で健康！生まれてこの方病気知らず。母乳は時々面倒になる事もあるんだけど、でも彼の免疫を向上させてくれているので助かります。日に日にアクティブになるマシュー。高速ハイハイに8ヶ月になった１月にはつかまり立ちを始めた。今は家具につかまりながらのつたい歩きが大好き。それからセサミストリートのDVDも！特にビッグバードがお気に入り☆ちょっとぐずったときもDVDをつけるとすぐ笑顔に。これかなり使えて大助かりです。
